EPSRC Call ‘Towards a Circular Economy’

EPSRC would like to invite Expressions of Interest to bid into the call for research proposals in Systems Change – Towards a Circular Economy. The aim of the call is to support research projects focused on modelling and understanding whole systems approaches to the circular economy, within the context of UK manufacturing.

EPSRC are committing up to £5 million for this call to support a number of cross-disciplinary research projects of duration up to three years.

This first stage of the call seeks expressions of interest to submit a full proposal. The submitted expressions of interests will be assessed at a short-listing panel in March 2016 and those that align appropriately with the scope for this call will be invited for the full proposal stage. The deadline for full proposals will be in April 2016 and funding decisions are expected to be made in July 2016.

Alongside this call EPSRC is publishing a position statement setting out a synthesis of views on publicly-funded research being done in the UK relevant to the circular economy. It summarises the opportunity for the UK and identifies the research communities contributing to this area as well as key stakeholders across the research and innovation landscape.
